The school has a small farm with a large vegetable garden, an orchard and milking cows. The school garden has been maintained organically for more than 20 years. The farm team is presently led by Francis Kilonzo. The children receive fresh healthy organic vegetables for lunch. Boarders receive fresh cow’s milk. The farm needs continuous development to improve efficiency and production and we strive towards self-sufficiency.
The children participate in the school garden either in morning work or in their weekly gardening lesson through their gardening teacher – Mrs Rose Ingala. There is a special atmosphere in the garden that we value, and this environment is important for children to experience. The children learn about the value of composting and growing and caring for different vegetables.
